ROBERTA BEARDSLEY came from California with her husband and family in 1969. She taught elementary school in the U.S., English in France and was a partner in a relocation company. She has been a member of the AARO board since the early '90's. She is presently the Events Committee Chairperson. |
MICHELE BROTHERS is a Franco-American Yorker who has been in Paris since 1985. Michele, who received an MA at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs in NYC, worked at Médecins du Monde in Paris, London and the US. She founded and manages "International Connections", an intercultural marketing consultancy and actively participates in arts-oriented, political and humanitarian associations. She is co-chair of the Outreach/Membership Committee and is particularly interested in AARO's international development. |

KATHLEEN DE CARBUCCIA is a founding member and president of AARO, board member of the American Aid Society and the Association of American Wives of Europeans; AARO Citizenship Committee Chairman. A lawyer, and former diplomat, she is a 30-year resident of paris and has three dual-national children.
MARK CARROLL came to Paris in 1994 for a six-month project, and at the end of it was lucky enough to be asked to stay on. After working his way through IT marketing, finance and auditing positions, he currently specializes in HR process re-engineering. A long-time member of the choir of the American Cathedral, he is also active in the Cathedral’s Friday Mission Lunch program. Each fall in support of Les Arts George V and the Cathedral music program, he organizes a concert in tribute to a composer of the Great American Songbook. He is a co-organizer of Paris Urban Adventures on Meetup.com, organizing activities for Paris residents and visitors alike.
JOSEPH COYLE is a retired magazine editor living in Paris. As a long-time editor of Money Magazine, a monthly magazine dealing with personal finance, Mr Coyle was responsible for coverage of taxes and retirement planning among other subjects. Mr. Coyle is interested in policy subjects in general and the experiences of expatriate living He is the editor of the AARO newsletter.
ANDY COYNE, from Hilton Head Island, SC, is an attorney practicing law with Baker & McKenzie in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he lives with his wife and three children. Andy has previously lived abroad in Spain, the Netherlands, Argentina and France. Andy participates in AARO’s advocacy work in Washington, D.C.
JOHN FLINT has worked as a journalist in Paris, London and Berlin, most recently as executive editor of Paris Magazine. He is a former president of the Anglo-American Press Association of Paris, of which he is still a member, as well as a former board member of the American Club of Paris. He also sings in the Paris Choral Society. John is currently serving as President pro tem of AARO.
AMANDA FLOHR-EGILE came to Paris in the Spring of 2008 from Cambridge, Massachusetts and works in the digital field focusing on user experience, online marketing and business intelligence. Amanda has managed global clients and teams in high-paced environments and is passionate about online engagement and improving business processes. Amanda has a master’s degree from Harvard University. She has also lived in Argentina and Germany.
JOHN C. FREDENBERGER, from Oklahoma, has been an American/French attorney in Paris since 1971, board member of AARO since 1973, and Chairman of the AARO tax committee until 2004. He remains a member of the tax committee and member of the American Club.
DON JOHNSON, a retired electronics engineer is the AARO Vice-President, Issues, member of the American Club, the English Speaking Union, President of Les Arts George V and former vestry member of the American Cathedral. He pursues his interest in music, singing in the Paris Choral Society.
MARY ADAIR JOHNSON has worked in various University settings: eight years as Registrar for the Graduate School of Banking at S.M.U. (Dallas), and ten years as Dept. Mgr, Psychology Dept., Texas Christian Univ., Fort Worth. She belongs to the Garden and Altar Guilds of the American Cathedral, serves on its Newcomer’s Committee, and Les Arts George V.
LORIN KALISKY is an entrepreneur with a background in technology, marketing-communications, and journalism. Mr Kalisky is currently the founder and CEO of Frog Industry, a start-up internet technologies company founded in 2009. Mr. Kalisky’s skills include corporate social media strategy, web design and development, tactical marketing and communications and strategic writing and editing. Mr. Kalisky is an English-American dual national and lives in Paris with his wife and daughter.
JAMES KIGIN has been in Paris for more than 25 years. James is co-chair of the Outreach/Membership committee. He has a Bachelor of Arts from Saint John’s University in Minnesota and a DEA from the Sorbonne. His professional career has been anchored in the education and language training field and he is a recognized expert in e-Learning. James participates in several different international orgainizations and is an avid networker. He loves the arts and particularly photography.
LUCY STENSLAND LAEDERICH is a past FAWCO President and a past president of AAWE. She currently serves as FAWCO U.S. Liaison and Parliamentarian. She has lived abroad since 1970 and been involved since 1975 with a number of non-partisan overseas advocacy groups, including the World Federation of Americans Abroad, where she served as Governor for 4 years and Vice Chair from 1993 to 1995. Since 2002, she has been closely involved in Overseas Americans Week, focusing specifically on election reform and the Americans Abroad Caucus. She has also served as FAWCO 1st Vice President, FAWCO Foundation Awards Chair and Foundation Vice President. Laederich was born in New York City, votes in Connecticut, and spent part of her youth in Sardinia, Switzerland and Canada. She holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in sociology and French literature from the University of Saskatchewan (B.A.), the University of California at Berkeley (M.A.) and the University of Washington (Ph.C.). The mother and grandmother of dual-national children, she is a free-lance translator in Paris, France.
ELLEN LEBELLE is a former English teacher and technical writer and is married to a Frenchman and has raised four Franco-American children. Ms Lebelle is a member of the AARO Meetup group and the investment group, as well as an active member of several international associations in the Paris area. Ms Lebelle’s main interests are voting, taxation and citizenship and she would like to take an active role in contributing to the communication processes for AARO members and potential new members.
MARGARET LEBRETON, raised in Houston, Texas, is a long-term resident of Paris. After retiring from a career in teaching, she joined the AARO board and is currently Vice President, Administration. She has four dual-national children.
TOM ROSE has been a board member of AARO since 1998 and was president froom 2000-2004. He heads AARO’s social Security and Medicare and Insurance Committees and has participated in annual door-knocks in Washington. A retired attorney, Tom has chaired a subcommittee at the International Chamber of Commerce investigating the laws of private commercial bribery and served as Corporate Counsel for multinational companies. He has resided in Paris for many years and has three dual-national children.
SALLY SHARPE is a Franco-American dual citizen and has been living in Paris for 19 years. She is a C.P.A. and after a career with a major accounting firm, she began working in the financial department of French subsidiaries of US corporations such as GE. She has been treasurer of AARO since 2005.
STEPHANIE H. SIMONARD left her native Washington, D.C. for Paris some 30 years ago and ever since has specialized in US and French taxation with KPMG and then her own Paris firm which provides income, gift, and estate tax services to Americans outside the US. She is a member of the Paris bar and enrolled agent before the Internal Revenue Service. President of AARO for six years and Chairman of the Tax Committee, she has helped AARO bring about major improvements in the ways the US and France tax Americans living abroad.
HELEN TANGE moved to France in 1968. She has worked at The Wall Street Journal Europe, was deputy director of the American Chamber of Commerce in France, consumer marketing manager of AT&T France, secretary general of the World Federation of Americans Abroad, and supervisor of communications at The American University of Paris. She has held various positions on the Board and is presently a member of the Outreach/Membership Committee.
GRACE TESHIMA came to Paris in 1985 so that her four children could get a French education, and joined AARO soon after. A New York native, she attended Fordham University’s experimental college Bensalem. Grace divides her time between family, teaching English, and showing artists in her home every month.
